Lynn Weatherson, LAc

Lynn Weatherson worked as a personal trainer for several years and witnessed the profound effects that exercise has on improving health, and as a result, she decided to pursue massage as an adjunct therapy.  This combined skill set allowed her the opportunity to better serve the athletes she worked alongside in their pursuit of health.

On this same path herself, Lynn sought out another healing modality, acupuncture, for her own musculoskeletal injuries, and fell in love with the profound physical effects that acupuncture created. In addition, Lynn noticed other amazing positive side effects including: improved sleep, less digestive issues, and feeling more balanced in a way that exercise or massage had never made her feel. It was upon this discovery that Lynn decided she wanted to pursue a degree in acupuncture to help athletes and others achieve optimal wellness too.

Lynn holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University and is Licensed by the Minnesota Medical Board. She is also a  Massage Therapist and holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health.

She believes that there are other choices in healthcare besides the traditional Western medicine ideology and that the body can be its own natural healer when partnered with other natural health care options like acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and massage therapy.

Lynn has gained experience working in a variety of clinical settings including: Pillsbury House, Aliveness project, Edith Davis Teaching Clinic and several chiropractic clinics. Her expertise shines when working with musculoskeletal injuries and athletes, but she has also been trained to treat sleep disorders, digestive disorders and emotional trauma.  She has a passion for creating physical and emotional balance between the body, spirit and mind. Her comprehensive knowledge of the body makes her your ideal health care partner when seeking care for:

  • improved athletic performance
  • muscular strain or sprain
  • sleep disturbances
  • digestive disorders
  • emotional or physical imbalances
  • women's health
  • Men's health

She earned a B.A. with honors from Mount Holyoke College in music and organic chemistry in 2001, then studied at Saba University School of Medicine (until her passion for natural and holistic medicine overwhelmed her). Dr. Brothers transferred to the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle in 2005, a fully accredited and nationally renowned naturopathic doctor degree program, from which she graduated in 2010. During the five years of naturopathic medical training, she was trained to the highest standards as a primary care doctor with intensive hands-on clinical practice that included naturopathic physical manipulation and craniosacral training.

In 2012, Dr. Brothers completed an 18-month long residency in Naturopathic and Integrative Medicine at Holistique Medical Center in Bellevue, WA, where she specialized in chronic and acute pain, female hormone imbalance, chronic fatigue, adrenal dysfunction, and digestive issues. She then worked at Holistique Medical Center as an associate doctor until Fall of 2015.

While in practice in Bellevue, a close family member was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, which propelled her into studying and working with chronic and acute Lyme disease as a specialty. Dr. Brothers additionally specializes in anxiety, alopecia (hair loss), insomnia, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.

Deeply respectful of the wisdom of medicine and science from around the world, Dr. Brothers has trained in a wide variety of diagnostic and treatment methods originating from around the globe. She is constantly working to stay on the cutting edge and frequently attends classes and seminars to find the most appropriate and up to date healing strategies for her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Brothers serves as medical crew on sailing vessels during multi-day ocean sailing races, enjoys skiing and biking, and writes. Family time is often filled with playing boardgames, cooking, and sailing on the lakes.
